As we all know, junk mail can be filled with sweepstakes and raffles for us to enter into to win trips, money, and various other prizes. But I've wondered if they're all legit?
Are all those contests and sweepstakes in my junk mail Legit?
"Sweepstakes" you find about via SPAM or crappy ads on certain sites (Hit the monkey with the spitball and win a FREE Ipod Nano!) are bogus at best, and phishing schemes at worst. Not to say there aren't legitimate contests out there---Spam is just not the way to find out about them.
Reply:I use Honiwon.com every day. The url is http://www.honiwon.com
I've entered lots of sweeps on that website and had no problems with anything. Report Abuse
Reply:If it from Yahoo, its probably not fake. You can go to Germany for the FIFA World Cup 2006 if you win. All you have to do is use Yahoo Answers (Keep answering and increase your points) or keep adding friends in your Yahoo Mssngr!
I'm writing this answer, coz I wish I could win!!!
Reply:Yes most of them are, but the chances of winning something is highly unlikely. The purpose of them is to promote a product. You know the old saying...If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
