Have you stopped participating in sweepstakes and givaways because of the internet codes?

I think that it is an annoying gimmic to get all of your information. I remember the days when I was a child and when we used to buy a Dr. Pepper and win another Dr. Pepper from under the lid. Now days you have to read the codes on stuff and log in to their website. No only that, you have to give them alot of personal information and opt out of receiving all of their spam. Also I have never won a free anything after doing all of this, so I have finally stopped.

Have you stopped participating in sweepstakes and givaways because of the internet codes?
Well, I certainly hear that!

Not only that, but did you ever wonder that their real (and main) purpose, in all that "giveaway" nonsense was to "harvest your personal information"?

I mean...for you to continue, on their website page(s), you have to give them all that personal information. So, I really think that people are just being tricked, by that, into giving their personal info. for adding to a database of information that those people sell as mailing lists.

In the end, the one who "gets something free" is not you, after all!

(It is THEM!)

Think about it!

(Hmmm. Tricky bastards)
Reply:have never participated and never will..
Reply:Yes. They want waaaaaaay too much info from you to turn around and say "Sorry. You're not a winner this time. Try again." It makes me wonder if they REALLY have prizes to give away, or if they simply want to fill up your e-mail with junk.
Reply:no, I just got frustrating not winning anything after all the times I've played. Heck I'm not even winning consolation prizes.
