Lately I have been the "lucky" winner of some online sweepstakes. How can I be sure these are for real or not?

It seems like all these winning numbers and the people e-mailing me are from different countries. How do I know if they are for real or just trying to get my personal info?

Reply:Consider all of them scams. Never respond to them even to ask them to remove you from their mailing list as that tells them they have a valid e-mail address. Just delete anything that looks like a sweepstakes message.
Reply:You are opening, reading and believing spam. Junk email. Of course they come from other countries, the spam originates in Nigeria, or China, or France, Russia, Germany or any of several other European countries. You haven't won something you didn't enter, and you didn't enter them because they don't exist. Put this crap in spam where it belongs, and don't open any more email from someone you don't know.
Reply:you don't win contests that you haven't entered.

report them as spam
Reply:There are a lot of scams like this out there trying to get peoples private information. NEVER and i repeat NEVER give any information to these sites or emails. All they are trying to do is get your personal information to steal your identity. You didn't win anything.
Reply:A quick google search is the best way.
