I was wondering if anyone has ever received a fake sweepstakes winners notification?

I recieved a letter in the mail saying I have won 98,000 dollars and with the letter came a check for "processing fee's and forgien transfer fee's". I tried to call the number on the letter but it was a voice mail box saying leave a message and they will call you back but the box was full. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Go to snopes.com.

It 's pretty possible it's a scam (Nigerian scam)
Reply:yes, do NOT participate. if it was a real sweepstakes then you wouldn't have to pay anything.

Reply:Dude, we all have. Delete it. You didn't win anything but heartache if you respond.
Reply:I get that kind of junk all of the time, just throw it out!
Reply:yes I have and they are fake, you can submit the address to aol or other types of agencies to let them know. Also just put them in your spam folder so you stop getting them. That is if you don't want to get them anymore. In my opinion I think they are looking to get personal info to rip you off
