What online sweepstakes are for real? Most I've entered want my email, address, phone number, and none seem
I've been entering online sweepstakes since 2000 and I've won plenty of things. I've won $10K, $5K, and $1500 cash, each on separate occasions, a 65" TV, a Cozumel cruise, an Xbox (back when they were new), and many, many other things. My advice to you is to stick to sweepstakes sponsorsed by large companies you have heard about. I won the TV from TBS Superstation (on their website) and the $5K from About.com, for example. If you come across a sweepstakes entry form and you can't figure out who's sponsoring it, or, the sponsor is some outfit you've never heard of, chances are it's either not legit or they're just harvesting email addresses. Good luck!
Reply:I have never won. Don't know anyone who has. If they are based in the US, legally someone has to win. Mostly, the main reason for the sweeps is to get you to do exactly what you did, which is give up your personal information so someone can try and sell you something later. Your true prize is a lot of junk mail and email.
Reply:your email is very important...if you get two pieces of good mail and you give it to someone who will sell your email adress to a bulk mailer...you willl get somewhere between 3 and 5 hundred peices of mail from Viagra or some other dealer that you didn't want....so now your email adress is full of junk and you didn't get the money either!!! how sad.
