Who wins the Johan Sanatana sweepstakes?

The Yanks say that time is up, and the deadline has been passed. However, they said the same thing about A-Rod, and he ended up getting 30 million a year. I would hope that the Yankees get him, but if not, I don't want the Red Sox to get him. But their offer was pretty good...You think the Yankees would give Ian Kennedy in addition to Melky and Hughes, even though they said they won't give Kennedy?

Who wins the Johan Sanatana sweepstakes?
In my opinion the New York Yankees will end up with Santana, but the Yankees net to negotiate a trade with the Twins NOT involving Phil Hughes. Ian and Melky are great prospects, but I just don't think they heve the talent Phil Hughes has. Mabey the Yanks should throw Shelly Duncan and Robinson Cano into the deal. If, and only if, the Yanks don't bite, Santana will stay a Twin for 1 more year. For all of the people who say the Sox will end up with Santana are crazy, the Sox already have to many pitchers, they need to get a new left fielder.
Reply:2007 WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS BOSTON RED SOX.

They're deal getting Santana and the Twins getting Lester Coco Crisp and 4 minor Leaguers will make the most sense.
Reply:Nobody. Because like I said 4 days ago in a post in here-Twins won't trade him.
Reply:i think my sox get it the angels were never really involved the redsox seem to be the only ppl still involved and i doubt the twins will keep a player who doesnt want to be there it wouldnt be smart
Reply:only because you asked...

you know what i think?

what i think is that we should just wait instead of wasting points asking the same question 15 times a day. because no one REALLY TRULY knows where he is going to wind up. sure we can make predictions, but who really knows for sure becasue anything can happen!
Reply:i say he goes no where, sox and yanks seem to be just going against eachother to drive the price up. Sox wont get him unless it's lester ellsbury, or bucholz and ellsbury. not one or the other. thats ALLOT to give up, including the fact he will want a long term deal in the 18-20 mil a year range.
Reply:Don't seem to feel "my" Yankees getting him....the winner of the "sweepstakes" will be Santana with the contract that he will get....really a great pitcher and if he goes to the "STINKIN RED SOX"......then we will be playing for the :"wild card".....he is really a great pitcher and still young!
Reply:Quite honestly I think AND hope that nobody will. There defiantly hasn't been any fair trade rumors that have been proposed. i mean come on, this is a future hall of famer we are talking about here. The Twins management may be real cheap, but I hope they are not stupid. Those trades that the Sox and Yanks are proposing for him are defiantly not even. I hope the Twins are smart enough to keep Santana at least until the trade deadline.
Reply:I think the Sox are the only team still in the running for him and I heard it might even happen after the winter meetings are over.
Reply:If i was a betting man, I'd say Boston has the best shot. Their offer that centers around Jon Lester is a very good one. I saw Jed Lowrie and Justin Masterson play in Portland, Maine over the summer and they are very very good young players (in the game I went to Masterson threw 8 innings and gave up 1 run) and Coco Crisp is a great defensive center fielder who can hit well and steal a ton of bases. If Boston gets Santana, I think you'll see an extension of 5 years at an average of $23.5 million per season.

I'll be honest here. I'm from Boston and hope that if the trade is made, this is the package the Twins take. I don't want to see Jacoby Ellsbury leave. He's the most exciting player we've had in a long time and could be a great player. At the end of the day, I'm happy with my Red Sox whether Santana comes here or not.
Reply:no I don't...that is too much to give up for one pitcher...yes it's a really good pitcher...but eventually Hughes and Kennedy probably will be too.
Reply:well the mariners can offer adam jones and the angels COULD offer jered weaver brandon wood and more and he might not be traded..
Reply:The Sox seem to have the inside track, but the Mets are now coming on stronger, and even though they said they're out can you trust the Yankees after they caved in to ARod?

I think it's Sox, Mets, Yankees in that order right now. Yanks are last since they got Pettitte back (it lowers their need).
