Is it worse record picks first or a coin flip? Does anyone know?
The Candace Parker Sweepstakes! Without a draft lottery , how does the WNBA determine which team picks first?
There is a draft Lottery. This year Phoenix was ranked 8th out of 14 and ended up with the number 1 pick. I think it was a 1 in 25 chance to get the first pick.
Reply:The WNBA does have a draft lottery system similar to the NBA.
Thus, the worst record team does not automatically get the #1 Pick, but the odds are stacked in their favor.
